Take ownership
of your data.

The value of AI is becoming undeniable. Keeping up with rapid developments and learning to harness it securely is more than busy teams have time for.

Staying current is our expertise. We continually evolve how we structure our clients' data so frontier AI models can put their latest capabilities to work.

what we build with you

Keep what works.
Build what's missing.

Custom software where you need it. Existing tools where they still work.

We help bring your company's records into a single source of truth that people and AI can draw from.

the workspace around the intelligence

We build the desk your AI works at.

A powerful model is a starting point. Useful work also needs the right business context, tools and permission to use them.

01 / capability → 02 / connection → 03 / useful work

01 / CapabilityBroad knowledge. No business records or authorized tools yet.

Included in the build.

Regular backups, tracked changes and tested recovery are safeguards included in each build. We make sure AIs have access to the right tools and give you visibility and control over the actions they take. Backup schedules, recovery checks and action permissions are defined in your scope.

01

Keep what works

We start with your process and existing tools. Keep the parts that serve you well; identify where information gets lost or repeated.

02

Connect what matters

We assess access, data quality and supported connections, then agree how the relevant records can come together.

03

Leverage your process

We turn the way your business works into shared context, then build custom software around the gaps for your team and AI. Your team checks the work before relying on it.

the foundation

Meet Structure.

A shared record of the business, purpose-built to give AI models the context they need to answer questions and act upon the underlying data.

Explore the sample environment to see how records, their connections and an assistant fit together.

Read this tree from its roots upward. Projects, people, tasks and business practices feed Structure at ground level, the central source of truth. Above it branch custom tools for each role, an AI assistant and centralized reporting for managers.

a practical first step

One workflow.
A useful beginning.

You do not need to commit to a platform overhaul to find out where AI can help.

You choose a process, with our help if needed. Underlay builds the automation; your team checks it and measures the result. That workflow work is credited toward a platform build if you choose to go further.

Start with one workflow
01

You choose the workflow

Bring us a recurring task, or a few options. We help you narrow the scope and agree what to measure.

02

Underlay builds the automation

We connect the agreed data and build around your process, with the necessary tools and checks.

03

You check, measure and decide

Your team tests the work and measures the result. Together, we decide whether to refine it or consider a full platform overhaul.

an owner-first starting point

Start with an assistant
of your own.

For owners and leaders juggling multiple workflows and responsibilities.

Tell us what you're juggling, at work and at home. We set up one AI assistant around it. You name it, choose its personality, and talk to it through one Underlay app.

It drafts; you approve anything that sends, buys, books or deletes. You own the AI accounts and pay the providers directly.

clear responsibilities

A foundation you
can build on.

The person who leads your build is the person you talk to.

Your data stays yours

You own your data. The contract defines platform ownership and licensing terms, including a client-owned option.

Built around the work

Shared records support tools for each role, with AI grounded in the information those tools use.

Experience behind the decisions

10+ years building custom software solutions.

How the platform fits together

before we talk

A few good
questions.

Do we have to replace our existing software?

No. We start by looking at what works, what needs connecting and whether a replacement would justify the change.

What do we own?

You own your data. Platform ownership and licensing are defined in the contract. Existing third-party software keeps its own terms and costs.

Where does the AI run?

Deployment choices are part of the scope: we agree where data goes, which model services are involved and who has access.

What happens after the first workflow?

We review the result together and decide whether to adjust, stop or expand. If you move into a platform build, the workflow work is credited toward it.

Who is this for?

Busy teams at established businesses -- usually somewhere between 20 and 500 people, running several systems that don't talk to each other, with an owner or leader who makes the call. It isn't tied to one industry. The quickest way to find out whether we can help is to email us and set up an intro call.

How much does this cost?

It depends on what we build together. Cost follows the development time needed to deliver the agreed scope, so we define that scope with you on an intro call before quoting anything. If you start with one workflow and later move into a platform build, that workflow work is credited toward it.
